Remember to the Roots is one of the most important things of Vietnamese through generations. It has marked sharply in Vietnamese soul and spirit. So Traveling to the roots is a program which is opened every year and is co-organised by the three northern provinces, aims to promote their tourism potential and contribute to improving the socio-economic situation in the localities.

At a press conference in Hanoi on February 15 held by the People’s Committees of Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Phu Tho provinces, this program was announced. In 2011, ‘Travelling to the Roots’ tourism programme will open on February 26 in Nghia Lo town, Yen Bai province.

There will be many festivals, events as well as other activities happen during this year’s programme in Yen Bai province. They will host a cultural tourism week, a culinary festival, sporting events, film screenings and various tours to attractive destinations.

By this occasion, many sites where are considered as roots will hold many cultural and tourism events such as Thuong (Upper) Temple festival in Lao Cai province and the Hung Temple festival in Phu Tho province in February 26-28.

The opening ceremony of the programme will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television. This is a good condition for foreigners to know more about Vietnamese History. So please get Vietnam visa and attend during this case.
