On Nov. 26 and 28 in Longzhou and Hanoi, a workshop on a “China-Vietnam Red Tour”, the second of its kind, was held by the Ho Chi Minh Museum in collaboration with the Longzhou district, the China province of Guangxi and the Guangxi Social Science Institute.

Within the workshop’s framework, Chinese firms conducted surveys on some potential places for the “red tour” such as the Hoang Van Thu Museum in the northern Vietnamese province of Lang Son, the former “safe zone” during Vietnam’s resistance war in Dinh Hoa district of Thai Nguyen province, the President Ho Chi Minh relic site and Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi.

Participants stressed the politic, cultural, diplomatic and economic significance of such as tour. Apart from increasing the two countries’ tourist exchange, the tourist project is expected to attract more tourists from other countries to Vietnam’s northeast region as well as China’s Guangxi province. Meanwhile, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in September conducted a survey on possible tour linking Cao Bang, Bac Can, Thai Nguyen and Lang Son provinces and cooperation possibility between these provinces and Guangxi province.
