China Beach Vietnam

Do you know a Vietnamese beach but having a foreign name? It’s China beach with an endless expanse of unspoiled white sand beach and friendly people, is one of the best beaches in Vietnam. The tiny cove of China Beach lies between Baker Beach and Lands End. Legend has it that local residents named China Beach for the Chinese fishermen who, long ago, anchored their junks in the cove and camped on the beach. You can see a monument to these early residents at the trailhead near the parking area at the end of Sea cliff Avenue. It is more famous among the American and Australian soldiers for being the landing ground during the Vietnam War.

China Beach seems to still cling to its past horrors of war with the ruins of the military  base  like   the helicopter hangars lying in the beach. Nowadays, Americans have returned to Vietnam, but this time they have left behind their tanks. They’re coming back as tourists, bringing welcome US dollars to some of the most beautiful but shell shocked parts of Vietnam. China Beach is regarded as one of the preferred Vietnam tourist attractions with a small community of guesthouse owners, marble statue shops, and other various trades.

For foreign tourists, the vast expanse of pristine water and clean unspoiled beach of China Beach gives them an invigorating experience. Swimming in the clear water or walking along the clean grainy sand that extends up to several kilometers must be wonderful. The beach offers a picnic area, sunbathing, good play spots for children, and fine views of the Marin Headlands and the Golden Gate because China Beach’s sheltered pocket of sand provides access to the water and a place to stretch out or picnic in the sun. Unpredictable surf conditions make swimming dangerous, however. For those interested in sunbathing out of the wind’s reach, there’s a small deck on top of the lifeguard equipment pick-up station. Outside the station, above beach level, grills and a picnic area are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Restrooms and cold water showers are open sunrise to sunset
