Da Nang welcomed a new year – 2011 with an event of travel. 650 international tourists on two luxury cruise ships anchored off Da Nang city on January 11 in order to begin a tour of the world’s cultural heritage sites in the central region.

Following the above information, one of the cruise liners – The Amazara Quest carrying 450 tourists from Japan, China and Great Britain, and the another one – Seabourn Pride taking 200 tourists from Great Britain, Germany and the US were the second and third cabin cruisers to visit the central region in the first few days of the year. Besides, the comeback of luxury cruise liners –  Costa Classica with 2,000 passengers is the most noteworthy event. Azamara Quest cruise liners  with tourists from Japan and China are also expected to contribute to a considerable growth in voyages in this year.

There are a lot of tourist attractions such as Hoi An ancient city, the former imperial city of Hue and the My Son temple sanctuary in the central region so Da Nang is expected to attract some 450,000 international arrivals this year. The Tien Sa port is expected to receive three more cruise ships carrying almost 2,500 international tourists from Asia and Europe this month. In 2011, travel agents hoped to increase 20 percent international arrivals to Da Nang by sea each year because of  the rallying trend of the global economy. In the first quarter alone, 23 ships carrying over 10,000 tourists, mostly from traditional European markets, are expected to cast anchor off the central port.
